MARIN STATISTICS
"Marin County has the largest proportion of people age 60 and over in the Bay Area. Between 2000 and 2008, the number of Marin residents age 85 and over is expected to grow nearly 40%. According to the 2000 Census, 4,618 people in Marin, or more than 13 % of those over age 65, have a disability that prevents them from leaving their homes."

Rebuilding Together (with Christmas in April) Marin, is one of 17 Bay Area affiliates (from Monterey to Sacramento) of Rebuilding Together USA, a national organization that includes more than 240 affiliates serving 1,880 cities and towns nationwide.
Each year, over a quarter of a million volunteers are mobilized to help support low-income homeowners and nonprofit agencies.
OUR MISSION
Rebuilding Together Marin, is a non-profit community-based organization dedicated to assisting low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, disabled, and families with children, to live in warmth, safety and independence through volunteer repair of owner-occupied homes and non-profit facilities serving those groups.
OUR STORY
Rebuilding Together Marin began as 'Christmas in April Marin' in 1995 and received its independent 501(c)(3) status in 1997. 'Rebuilding Together' was introduced nationally as the new corporate name in the spring of 2001, in response to national corporate sponsor requests for a name that more clearly reflected the nature of our services.
As an all-volunteer organization, we highly value the homeowners, nonprofits, trades people, and corporate and community groups who are the backbone of the work we do. To date, over 3,500 volunteers from businesses, labor organizations, congregations and the community have participated in our annual Rebuilding Day and associated programs. In the last 10 years, our volunteers have renovated more than 125 homes and non-profit facilities throughout Marin County (including West Marin).
